Qualification Overview
The: QA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF) qualification educates Learners about health and safety in the workplace. It covers understanding risk assessment, identifying and controlling the risks from common workplace hazards, the legal requirements related to health and safety in the workplace and what to do in response to accidents and incidents at work.
Aim of Qualification
The aim of the qualification is to enable Learners to develop their health and safety awareness. It helps the Learner to build an understanding of health and safety in the workplace and the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.
Intended Audience
This qualification is for all employees to raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
Duration of Course
The minimum contact teaching time that this qualification should be delivered in is 6 hours excluding breaks. Courses are generally delivered of over 1-day.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
Requalification Requirements
It is recommended that training is refreshed every 3 years.

Qualification Assessment
Formative assessments � a range of informal assessment procedures employed by the Trainer/Assessor during the learning process to measure each Learner�s knowledge, skills and understanding related to the assessment criteria
Theoretical Assessment � 1 x 30 multiple choice question paper (minimum score 20)
